It’s a mother - daughter story

Many of us are in business with our moms. I am.However complex and complicated this partnership can sometimes be, there exists one key element that tops everything - unconditional love and trust, that in my case allowed for the partnership to grow and develop. The challenge for us was to determine where my mom ends and where I begin. We both did everything when we started and that was not easy.Kids tend to go the opposite direction of their parents or just as far as possible to find their own voice and independence. I left Israel at 24 and came to NY. I went as far as I could but luckily found my interest in the Fashion industry quite early on and...

More than 50 Shades of Grey

On a tour of one of the Historical Houses in Charleston last year, I noticed that in all family portraits, the hair of both parents was always painted grey or white. No matter how young or old they were. I was drawn to it with surprise while the tour guide explained how back then, grey hair WAS a sign of respect. Ha!Grey hair IS a sign of respect. We know each other inside out, we know - becasue we constantly share or inquire - about each others joys and pains. Hebrew was the only thing one really needed in order to...

Enjoy 'you’! Valentine’s Day is here not to remind us of being in couples. It reminds us of the best emotion and energy there is to elevate our soul - that’s love. And how can you truly love someone else before you love yourself? So I urge you, to go out today, and find that one item to make your...

Let's talk about Jeans.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Or better , let’s talk about what the statement Jeans make about the person wearing it. A couple of weeks back, Chirlane McCray (De Blasio) caused a commotion when she attended a funeral with a pair of jeans. Why was it such a big Faut-Pas?http://nyti.ms/1yMkCPW Two policemen are dead, families are shuttered, and the first lady is being criticized for the suit she was wearing. Do you guys understand how big our role is!? If you were her stylist, perhaps you would have suggested something more suitable, to deliver the message of grief and respect. Perhaps you would have told her, “maybe not this outfit for this event”. And “How about a long Blue dress,...
