Thought of the Week - Roni

Meet Roni Rabl, my mom, who taught me how to keep up when things get chaotic. To stay on my toes, look for new opportunities, and never feel sorry for myself when things get tough. Money is never the goal and you show who you are by doing, not by talking. I find it all so handy especially today, a day before the election as we are all nervous and anxious about our country. May we all show patience and tolerance this week towards any outcome and with each other. Thank you mom! Happy Monday, Yael

Thought of the week - Regret

I don't like to feel regret. It is the worst feeling and there is nothing I can do about it. I tend to just suppress these feelings, ignore them and try to bury them but we all know this is not a good system. I visit a hospice patient every Wednesday after work and last week, I came up with a solution as I listened to him. He is a brilliant 88 year-old man suffering from Parkinson's. I always enjoy our conversations and always learn a lot from him. But he does have that tendency to always welcome me with everything that went wrong and all the things he regrets he didn't do or had to do or wished he...

Thought of the week - Seasons

I grew up in Israel where there is mainly one season which is Summer! We have a few months that we call winter when we have some rain and it's a bit cooler in the north of the country and in Jerusalem. Beach season is year round. Moving to the US was a big surprise. Who knew that Spring was a real season! And what a pleasure! Experiencing the greens of nature come back to life, feeling the weather changes and being truly part of all of it. And then came Resort! Learning about the cruise ships was another cultural shock. One cruise ship is like the size of Tel Aviv :) And people dress up for it! How exciting!...

Thought of the week - meet in person

In the past month I visited a few of our designers at their home towns and studios. Meeting them personally gives a new angle to our relationship and a reason to continue and develop our work together and sometimes a reason to stop. I learn about their morals and work ethics from close and they learn about me. This month I met : Chiara (Italy) from Chiara Cocol, Hagar (Israel) from Alembika and Alexandra (Greece) from Ozai N Ku. All 3 are mirrors to their collections and a confirmation for me that what you see is who they are: Chiara is light and humorous. Colorful and interesting. Hagar is witty and passionate about women and clothes in a way I...
