Thought of the Week - Reset

I like my daily routines and tend to get comfortable in my habits. Change is always an effort for me and brings discomfort.  But everything changes and it is good to practice change. Even a little one.  Maybe I will start taking a different route on the way to the subway in the mornings (I notice that I always go through the same streets), or do my tai chi form a little differently, or maybe hear criticism differently?  Little changes in 2023 to remind myself not to get stuck in my ways. How will you practice change this coming year? Happy Monday, Yael

Thought of the Week - Dressing Up

We talk a lot at work about how we come dressed on a daily basis matters. I see a connection between how I dress up in the morning and the way I function during the day. When I pay attention to what I wear and how I look, I find myself paying attention to other things too. To the team as well. I come with a certain intention.  If I didn’t do my hair and makeup that morning, and I didn’t care about how I looked, it would show in my overall attitude towards work. I want to show respect to myself and others by dressing up for my day. How do you feel about your work team dressing up? Do...

Thought of the Week - My Mind

The NYC subway system can be tricky. It's the best and the worst thing we have in the city. I can be at work in 20 minutes door to door if things go smoothly. Fatima, (our sales manager), comes in from Brooklyn and she has daily stories about how the train stops in between stations and will not move for 15-20 minutes which brings up anxiety within her. Last week my train home got stuck between 42nd street and 50th. There was a loud sound inside the car and we couldn't hear the conductor. 10 minutes later we were still standing still . I felt the anxiety rising. I got sweaty and uncomfortable in my seat. It took another 15 minutes before we...

Thought of the Week - End of Year

Thanksgiving brings many good thoughts to mind. Many people and things I am thankful for. I love this holiday as I don't always remember to be thankful. December is a month when I like to think about my past year and what I would like to change or let go of next year.   I am ready to let go of guilt and feelings of regret. So many moments and nights are wasted with these 2 emotions.    What I should have said, done, felt. What I made someone feel, what I should have done sooner, how stupid of me not to... blah blah... How exhausting and unnecessary. This self beating that many of us are so good at. I am letting it go. I am Ok...
