Meet Roni Rabl, my mom, who taught me how to keep up when things get chaotic. To stay on my toes, look for new opportunities, and never feel sorry for myself when things get tough.
Money is never the goal and you show who you are by doing, not by talking.
I find it all so handy especially today, a day before the election as we are all nervous and anxious about our country.
May we all show patience and tolerance this week towards any outcome and with each other.
Thank you mom!
Happy Monday,
Yael
This year requires so much from all of us but it mainly requires us to be creative and change as our world has changed. I keep thinking about the food industry and how it is similar to our industry. Restaurants that couldn’t make the shift into outdoor dining or didn't get better with delivery services closed down. Covid numbers are rising again as restaurants were just preparing to offer indoor dining. New Yorkers dine out! I’m nervous and curious to see how restaurant owners will become creative in the next few months. Those that do, and they are out there, will survive. We have the same job to do! Become creative and learn how to service our ladies differently this...
I wish we could change our approach with the elderly during this hard time of Covid. So many died alone in the past few months and we should make sure it doesn't happen again. We should treat our elderly like our own young grandchildren. They both cannot be left alone and an aid cannot provide the emotional help they need. These are the little risks I have decided to take this winter. To visit! One on one, keeping a healthy distance. Covid is a very good, very real reason but not enough of an excuse to not visit. I volunteer with hospice and I see the difference it makes for these patients. The human interaction is irreplaceable. Being on the...
Yom Kippur is a day when we try to reflect and contemplate, staying quiet, fasting and looking at the past year. We try to learn from our mistakes, ask for forgiveness from those we hurt and try to think about the next year and how we want to enter it. This past year was so challenging and so hard but I learned a lot. I learned who my partners are, I learned a lot about my business and its needs, I learned about those people I don't want around me and how precious life is. Working under pressure and fear took a toll on all of us. What a great opportunity to learn. I mainly want to keep asking myself...
