Thought of the week - Fall Deliveries

I have spoken with many of you but not with all and I wanted everyone to be in the loop. As most of you know, we are experiencing delays in deliveries mainly due to delays in fabric deliveries, overbooked cargo flights and understaffed channels from airports to customs clearance.  This is a situation we did not anticipate and we are quite overwhelmed by.   Factories are overloaded with work and lack staffing. (Same issue we have as retailers, everyone else in the world suffers from. The workforce is not fully back). Flights and ships are overbooked and keep being cancelled. Some with backlogs of a month.   I am very conscious of your timeline and your need for the goods you ordered. We expect to...

Thought of the week - Meet Tex

This past weekend I visited Nadine at Tiger's Eye; one of our retailers in Lititz, PA.   I met Tex there. Thought of the week - SS22 Trends

I thought today's zoom session was informative and thought provoking in a business sense.  A good share for those who couldn't make it. We went over the SS22 market trends and covered color, mood and attitude.    Attached is the presentation. Something good to discuss with your staff. What do you think will sell in your store this coming season and next?   What is your customer looking for? Have they voiced this?   What should you buy for next season?   Happy Monday, Yael

Thought of the week

There is this practice I like to try to do but usually fail at: Take 1 day or start with 1 hour  and try to only speak at and about the people you are with in the room. No talking about anyone who is not present with you.  When we talk about others who are not present, we gossip. I bet I would have much less to say if I was able to follow this rule. How much of the day do we gossip?  Happy Monday, Yael

Thought of the week - The next few Zooms

Dear community, As we moved to meeting on zoom once a month (the first Monday of each month), we want each meeting to be as focused as possible as we all go into the fall season and getting busier in the stores. Here is the general schedule for the next 4 months: * Monday August 23rd (Replacing September 6th due to Labor Day) - we will cover Spring 22 trends collected by forecast companies and top trendsetters.   * Monday October 4th - we will talk about the hiring process. Do's and don'ts. A workshop with business consultant Cobi Collins.   * Monday November 1st - we will meet with a business consultant to talk about running our business efficiently.   * Monday December 6th - Holiday party.
