Thought of the week - China

This past week I was reminded how small the world is and how we all depend on each other. People and countries. The political environment this past year and the coronavirus crisis created this "us" and "them" feeling and attitude between China and the US. It's happening "there", far away, so it's not our problem. It causes a disconnect and a lack of compassion. Most of our designers use fabric from China, many small businesses depend on Chinese production, we can't behave like we don't need them. This isn't just about Apple or Amazon being affected. Thought of the week - Plans and Life

My daughter asked me how my week was. I said "challenging". She asked: " What were the best and worst parts?" That made me think deeper: The worst was experiencing the horrific noise from the Hudson Yards construction that was next door to our show which created a lot of discomfort and frustration, more than I can describe to those who weren't there. But the best part was feeling the support that buyers and vendors showed. You guys did not leave the booth. Thought of the Week - Love

My friend is a Psychoanalyst and was introduced to a book called Sex For One during a sex therapy course she took and thought everyone should read it. It's all about masturbation. Everything you can think of is there. For men, women and couples. So I bought a copy for myself and a few more to give to my kids, my best friend's kids, my friends and colleagues. I like how the author talks about our first sexual experience and how it can bring stress to many if they didn't have a partner at a certain age.
