My daughter Ruth just turned 18. This ended 10 years of me raising my 2 kids as a single mother. My son will be 21 in September. I will be 50 next year. They are both quite independent and happy kids. So many strong feelings around it. I am proud, sad, happy and looking forward to the next chapter of their lives. The worst nightmare for any designer is to have a merchandiser pointing at a beautiful item from their collection and saying: "This can go with any pair of Denim..." I read recently that top celebrity actresses and socialites, appeared to be doing this last season. Designer shows had models wearing denim pants, as a very casual look. How did we all end up in the Fashion industry? My daughter always wonders what brought me into this field as I am not into dressing up at all.
